
Extended Formal Model for Ranking of Authoritative Resources
The aim of this paper is to inform how authority of researchers can be detected from information hidden in citation networks. The citation networks are networks of relationships between citing and cited authors, publications and other similar resources (e.g. hyperlinked structures of the Web). We want to derive a rating of individual participants modeled as nodes of this network. The results of such rating are helpful e.g. when distribution of a financial support is planned, the accreditation is given or research tasks are approved. All network systems can be modeled as a graph. Mathematical notions and formulas from graph theory are available to explore their features and results from one type of networks are utilized in the others.Lit.1. Brin S., Page L.
